We came up with the idea for Holding Things Together just a few weeks before the show launched which meant bingeing, furious notetaking, even more furious recording and an insane amount of editing. We generally recorded about 2.5 hours for each episode and edited them down to an hour.

Rebecca Birmingham hosts Honky Tonk Radio Girl on WFMU, which spins obscure 45s from the classic era along with some better known singles. She’s been on the New York airwaves since 2005.

Nick Stahl hosted Twang and Toe Tappin’ Music in Los Angeles on stations KCSN and KXLU respectively and was on the air for 15 years. During that time he interviewed country legends like Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, Ralph Stanley, Buck Owens, Ray Price and Billy Joe Shaver.
